Job Summary

Tata Motors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Engineer to oversee manufacturing operations, improve production efficiency, and ensure the highest quality standards in vehicle and component manufacturing. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise daily production activities on the shop floor.
• Ensure production targets are achieved within planned schedules.
• Maintain product quality and compliance with company standards.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and TPM initiatives.
• Analyze production data and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Monitor machine utilization, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Support new product launches and process development activities.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
• Train and guide operators and technicians on manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 1–5 years of experience in production or manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and production systems.
• Understanding of quality management systems and production planning.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Production planning and process optimization.
• Root Cause Analysis and problem-solving techniques.
• Quality control and inspection methodologies.
• Knowledge of CNC machines, assembly lines, and manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP.
• Leadership and team management skills.
